Mortara Family Kennels is a family-owned and operated gun dog kennel located in Glasgow, Montana, in the heart of some of the best wild bird country in the world. Here at MFK we have a passion for bird dogs and wild bird hunting. Owner Michael Mortara's love for wild birds, wild places and the dogs that make it all possible, was passed down through a rich family heritage starting with his grandfather.  As a young man he would follow his father, uncles and their bird dogs through the uplands and wetlands in Northern California hunting and guiding.  It was here that his obsession for hunting and the outdoors took root. With over 20 years of guiding and wild bird hunting experience Michael and his fiancé Tori decided to make his passion his profession and began guiding and training bird dogs full time in 2020. His dream and goal was to always have a kennel committed to developing the best bird dog for the wild bird hunter so that more people can enjoy wild birds and wild places. We believe that the performance of our dogs and the joy they bring us can be used as a tool for conservation.
